I didn't want to hijack the 'Medium Voltage' thread, but figured you would like to see these. This was a FPL (POCO) vault we took possession of. 13kv primary, 480y/277 secondary.

The FPL transformer was demoed along with their busses. Here is Al installing laterals for the new pad mount.

Very nice pictures. Looking at pictures 4 and 5 it looks like your going to have a busy area. Does Al work inside or only in trenches?

Every time you post these sand traps pictures it gets me that it looks like volcanic ash as opposed to sand!
What is the PH level of the soil, (probably off the scale to the acid side-MO) do you know, does it matter? I realize the salt air is enough for other consideration's. Can I assume that there a draw fan to vent this structure?

What if any other "Odd" applications are you required with the salty air, and that soil, gezz that stuff justs looks toxic...

I miss sand in my shoes...

What does the orange Caution sign say?

I hope whoever set that can on the transformer was wearing PPE or that it was de-energized at the time, looks awful close to some of those lugs..
