The Hubbell VR684 comes with Style 1 and Style 2

Style 1 Solderless connection to the Grounding pole.

Style 2 The grounding conductor is bonding to a extra grounding pole. VIA bonding jumper.

Installing exterior. 180 feet away. #4thhn , + # 8 G.

Which style is better and why. Or its just preference?
 
Often you are matching existing. For pin and sleeve I prefer the IEC 309 type. They are interchangeable between mfgs, many use the same part number
