Plastic 4-o nail on round boxes

For illumination purpose with nail on box installed inside building wall but flush with outside wall next to front door. I count find a code that such a box would have to be wet or damp listed.

I did find A code that Lamp holder must be wet listed. 14-2 romex going in plastic box. Is this box legal?

Since the box is within the wall the box is in a dry location.

As far as I know that is does not if it doesn’t extend past the “envelope of home” or exterior of the wall. Although I do often times screw a regular 4” metal octagon to the exterior sheeting where a vinyl J-block is used that has 1 1/2” space within it if it’s not the type of J-block that has an electrical junction incorporated with it.

That is, unless the vinyl siding thugs put the block off center of the box
