Plastic box with mc wire

Isn't there a clear requirement for metallic fittings in regards to how they terminate in nonmetallic enclosures?I thought that if the box is plastic you must use a bonding bushing.But my buddy says that so long as one end is grounded you are fine.Either way I dont tend to run MC cable into plastic boxes anyway but he says he does it fairly often.I looked in the book and I could not find anything crystal clear in a short amount of time...so I thought someone here could help me understand a little more.

Take a look at 314.3 and the exceptions, and 250.148(D).
