I'm embarrassed to admit my ignorance on electric motors. this motor runs fine but something there suggests I can wire it on normal 115 single. it is wired now 220 single.. It is an old Kellogg American 2 stage air compressor from the 50's. Its specs are unusual compared to todays standards since the cfm's @100psi are much lower then normal 2 stage compressors have in todays markets. normal cfms are around 17 on w2 stage.. this one is around 11 which tells me it could run on house currant. My garage has size 12 wires and a 20 amp breaker.

if this original motor can not be used I hzave a modern day 5 hp motor that runs on 115. rather use this one since I like old things to be kept together. this motor is huge.. only 3 hp but I suspect ratings in 1957 were not like today.
