Plenum Cable Use

NEC Sec 300-22 ( C ) ( D ) states that UL listed cable is rated for indoor Air Handling Spaces I have a UL Listing ( 9c45 ) and have an Inspector Questioning the color of the cable TIEWRAP as the Plenum rate or not and not the UL listing . I find this quite peculiar and am having trouble convincing the Inspector . Any suggestions ?

I think that most plenum rated tie-wraps are black. If he sees ones that are white, he might think that they are not plenum rated.

If what you installed is plenum rated, leave a package for him to see.

Red is plenum rated and wait till you see what they cost. Better to use some tie wire. Compliant and much, much cheaper.

Where in the code does actually require the use of a plenum rated tie-wrap???

The NEC has nothing to say about plastics in plenum spaces other than LV wiring. I believe that this is a local and building code issue.

I keep hearing about it, but I have yet to see an actual requirement, which is why I asked. I am in Mass, and I cannot recall seeing anything about tie-wraps in the building code, and have never seen anything in the NEC.

Anyone else have a thought???
