Received an emergency call from a customer that lost power in half of their mobile home. Upon arrival, I noticed the 200 amp meter pan is located on the side of the mobile home (approx 6' away), but their is NO disconnecting means on the load side of it. After talking to the customer, I find out that the 200 amp disconnect is laying under the mobile home (on the ground) (violation #1) with the 4/o URD going into the bottom of the disconnect without any means of protection...(conduit, ect) (violation #2). After carefully opening the disconnect, I find out that one leg is burned off, and the cartridge fuse is blown.
I explain to the customer that the ONLY way I will repair this, is to install a new service from the meter, into the home, including the remove of all violations.
Long story short, the customer ok'd the work, and paid me in full after argueing with the mobile home park owner who says its the tenants problem, and NOT the park owner.
Now.. I need to supply the tenant (mobile home owner) with a letter stating exactly what the code violations were, so he can properly bring it to the attention of the Property owner and I would like to state exactly what article it is found in the code book..
Can someone please help me.... THANK YOU!!
