Could anybody give me a quick rundown on how power management modules work in a generator transfer switch. I can see the use if it were set up to control possibly a A/C condenser I would imagine the control wiring would play a part. What about loads such as hot tubs, ranges, dryers, etc that you would want to be able to shed from the back up power capability. I am told that 17-20KW units are commonly installed in homes that could possibly have a given load of double their output. Is it more of a software/programmable feature as opposed to a physical wired signal that sheds the load off? I am looking at going the route of a service rated transfer switch such as RTSY200A3. Thanks.
