So I did a service change. The old POA was located 6 in. under a window. I moved the service riser over maybe 6ft and put a new POA 1 ft to the left and 1 ft lower.
The power company called and said their drop cant reach the new POA because the old POA was on the front of the house and the new one is on the side.
They told me I had to redo the service to make it accomdate thier wire. So I would need to : get a new untility authorazion number, pull a new permit with the town and have it reinspected!
I laughed! Told them no way it's in violation ..... and they have no idea why......... Gotta love the power company

I told them I needed to move the point and I needed to do the service ASAP due to the sale of the house. The engineer never called, I did the service, the inspector agreed with not using the old POA. DONE!!! They can pull a new drop

I am confused. Original POA was 6" under window. New POA is 1' to the left and 1' lower?? And you moved it far enough to comply with 230.9?

If it was only moved 1 foot left and 1 foot down how does it end up on a different side of house? How does the drop not reach unless it was stretched about as tight as it could be stretched originally and there is literally no excess cable?

Hasn't POCO ever heard of splicing devices?
