Guy's my first question here. I just installed a new meter pan on a new pole. In the picture you can see the old pole which is broken off. All I did was move the service over 8" and ran it up the new poll. There was a fire that creamed the old meter. My quest here is the expansion joint. Some power providers here require it and some don't. I just got in the habit of installing no matter what. I always put an 8" piece between the pan and the joint and put a strap there. My question is about the lower portion below the expansion joint. Do you have to strap this? Seem to me that a strap to the pole here would total defeat the reason for having expansion joint in the first place. Thanks in advance, Bob L
