Pole top fixture grounding

When was/is it allowed to not run an EG to pole mounted fixtures? For some reason I believe it was in years past. Height being a factor.

The fixtures in mind are mounted at 60’ on a wooden pole.

Never heard of that.

Have seen and heard of no EGC, but rod driven.:happyno:

Used to see street lights that way but haven’t been around any to look for years. MV lights on farm yard poles seldom if ever have grounding let alone fusing.

I know nada about MV, but all the POCO street lights I have worked on had an EGC.

These were ones that we had POCO install so maybe they wired per NEC and not POCOs usual method, IDK.
