I have a customer with a concrete pool
They are renovating the cement skirt
There are no ladders, railings or diving boards.
Do I need to do anything more then number 8 circle and a water bond?

Not sure if NJ would you require to bond the water or not... but that would be a requirement. Obviously they can't make you do the 4 corners of the pool so the #8 around the pool and bond the water. The water bond is usually done with a special fitting installed at the pump area

mystic pools may wade in here..... god, that was bad.....

make sure everything is tied together. including the stuff you
didn't touch. i prefer #6, as there is less of a chance of the conductor
breaking.

pool shell, wet niche fixture, all pool equipment, etc.
tie it into a bond wire. sink a ground rod.

i've seen two people die from faulty pool equipment.
just do it right, even if you do it for free.
your hands are on it last? something happens?
tag. you are it.

i got sued for $2.5M for a wrongful death, and i didn't even
do the work. i was just there. everyone got sued.
i didn't charge for the service call. i walked away.

i still got sued. it is what it is.

A ground rod in an equipotential bond does a grand total of O (zero) good!

i know. it does zero bad, as well. it costs $14. it makes me feel better.

are you trying to tell me that feeling good isn't worth $14? really?

the pool in my backyard has ***TWO*** ground rods. stainless steel $89 ground rods.
think how good that feels.... can you even imagine how good that feels?

That $178 still in my pocket would make me feel good!;)
