Pool Bonding

When bonding a above ground pool ( circular) , and I bond the motor do I just leave the end that's not attached to anything,just curled up by pump motor or can it be attached also to pump motor? Also how would I bond the water if the ladder is plastic? The pool was up and filled before I got there.

NEC 2008 - 680.26 for bonding perimeter and equipment.

680.26 (B) Bond the water, circle of copper around pool 18"-24" away from pool, 4"-6" deep - hitting 4 uprights, continued to pump motor.


Really need to know water depth to answer some of this, see NEC 2008 680.2 definitions.
If it's storable less than 42" of water depth, bonding may not come into play.

I don't know what you mean by the part in red above. If you have already bonded the pump motor why would you connect again to it?

Also to add to what cpinetree linked to, I use this a lot for the water bond. It goes in the filter basket for the pump.
