I am a homeowner installing my own pool. I am doing everything myself, including the electrical work. My question is regarding the bonding of the pool. I am not mounting the ladder, rail, or diving board until the spring because I am giving everything time to settle before pouring the top concrete collar and laying the paver patio/apron. How do I bond these items? Do I just leave a part of the bonding wire available in each area and then attach it in the spring when I install the remaining parts? Also, will it pass inspection this way?
Also, after reading other posts on this site, I have another question. My local inspector said I needed to run a bonding wire around the pool (vinyl lined polymer) and pick up every metal part. He never mentioned a grid or any 3' area around the pool. As I mentioned, I will be pouring a shallow concrete collar around the pool and will be laying pavers on that. There will be no rebar in the concrete. Is a grid required? How do I construct it? Should the bonding wire be a loop around the pool? A diagram in another post shows a grid with individual bonding wires going from the grid to each metal part. Should I do a loop or individual bonding wires? Also, each polymer panel is stake with rebar. Would each of these need individual bonding wires or can they be looped as well?
