Pool bonding

It was told to me that the bonding conductor #8 of the pool equipment and pool shell can not be together on the same ground bar kit as the grounding conductor. The reason is never shall the panel ground and bonding conductor be tied together. If this is true, do you insulate the lug on a motor from the frame because the grounding screw is tapped into the frame. Similarly the bonding lug on the deck box is directly conected to the grounding bar in the deck box, and the wet niche ground is bonded to the shell of the pool. Most equipment on pools contain a bonding lug and an internal grounding connection, both are tied to the same frame. Am I correct in my thinking
