Pool deck boxes

I have a new build. The pool is on the second floor with without any place to put the deck boxes. It was suggested I put them inside a mechanical room inside the house, but I was concerned about the fumes. Is it legal to put a deck box inside a house?

Where is your pool equipment panel located? The purpose of your deck boxes is so that you can seal off for chlorine gas that will eat up your electrical equipment and to keep your connections above the maximum water level above pools and spas for any wet niche fixtures so your electrical connections will not be submerged in water. I don't see anything in 680 that states these boxes can not be inside the house. I usually set mine below the pool equipment panel where these conduits originate from.

I completed an indoor pool recently. The pool equipment is sharing a mechanical room with hot water heaters and gas fired furnaces. The room is deck level of the pool about 50' away. There are no pool chemicals or chemical crocks in the room.

I set my deck box adjacent to the panel about a foot above the grade. That way when pulling the light cords through if it's a bit tough, you don't have to worry about smacking your knuckles on the panel above.

I use an Intermatic plastic deck box. I has a rubber seal for the top.

Pool equipment is 12’ below water level outside
You'll have to pick a spot within the pool room or use the suggested mechanical room where you can set the deck box above the water level. The trick is to make it invisible if you choose the pool room, so you'll have to get creative.

If you choose the mechanical room, be mindful of the distance from the pool. Cords for the pool lights are maxed at 150' Be mindful also of number of 90's to get there.

Perhaps a detail within the pool room whereas the deck box can be set in a bump out or boxed wall?? With an access panel??
Just thinking out loud.
