Updating my pool subpanel from older Intermatic mech timer to digital/wireless controller. Original feeder (in a Zinsco panel - topic for another day), two SP 40amp CBs, used twin #12awg on each breaker  . Fortunately, using #1 son as puller, we were able to pull new 4 wire feed through about 75ft of 3/4 pvc conduit between Zinsco and equip pad. Equipotential bonding at equip pad is incomplete, connecting only 1 of 2 pumps and heater. The equip pad does have a nearby GEC which the bonding wire is connected to.

I understand the GEC should be connected directly to the detached subpanel ground bus. I've seen recommendations against connecting the equipotential grid to a GEC, though there would seem to be an "indirect" connection to the grid via the subpanel ground bus and equipment EGCs. Can't find a direct treatment of this in 680. Comments?
