pool light

line into GFI plug load out neutral and ground to light, load side hot to switch, switch leg to light. GFI is tripping if I bypass GFI the light works

need more info. Is the pool light a separate circuit? I don't understand plug load... Please explain the connection better

pool light

off of the power to the time clock for pool equipment it feeds a GFI pug which feeds off the load side the neutral goes to the light and the ground. the hot off the load side goes to the switch and the switch leg goes to the light and it trips if I bypass the GFI plug the light works

Are you saying the neutral from the GCFI is connected to both the neutral and ground for the light ?
