I know what a wet niche light is. Can anyone help me with what is a no or dry niche or through the wall light fixture? The type is not listed on the fixture and the definitions are confusing. Specifically there is a plumbing pipe the 12 volt fixture screws into from the inside the pool. The fixture seals the hole. The pool would have to be drained to replace. I am assuming a dry niche but could it be a no niche? The requirements for a 12 volt fixture no niche are the same as a wet niche except for grounding and I see no way for this fixture to comply as there is nowhere to attach conduit to the cord to run to a listed pool box. A dry niche does not need to meet those requirements.

I would say what you described is a no niche since there isn't an enclosure around it. A wet niche light fixture is one where the water from the pool enters the niche but is sealed to the pipe that feeds the niche. A dry niche light fixture does not have water in the niche and is sealed by the lens of the fixture itself. Not sure I have seen a dry niche light.

BTW, the answer I gave is my best guess at it all.
