Pool lighting

Hi guys, I do a lot of pool installs, but I’m finding myself at a loss with this one. Have a customer who wants to install a low-voltage LED strip light around the perimeter of the pool it will be about 12 inches from the Pool’s edge where he wants it, the light he found is listed For pools and spas and even underwater if need be with all proper UL ratings as far as I can tell ,as well as his driver , having a hard time finding an article that will or will not allow this any help is greatly appreciated

This is an underwater rated light but will be installed face up in a channel between the coping edge and the pavers not sure if this applies .

I'm curious of the brand. I used fiber optic strip lights decades ago that went under the coping.
I have not seen anything for your application on the deck.

After reviewing the specs the transformers checks all the boxes but the led strip is ip68 only but totally wrapped in a 1” thick silicone type material , assuming where this will be installed within 12” of the pool edge and will be channeled out of the pavers that this option may not work .

What is the brand? IP68 is the rating for its ability to be waterproof.
They would have to be rated for pool application and the transformer has to be rated for pool/spa use. Intermatic has one. You can't just any transformer like ones for landscape lights.

I think the better choice is fiber optic. No power near the pool. No electrical connections pool side that can be compromised. The driver can be set back away from the pool area. One continuous loop.

I have looked into strip lighting for projects in the past. Fiber seems the best way to go. I used FiberWorks almost 25 years ago from Pentair (PacFab then) I think parts are still available for drivers, but a complete system is not.

Here's a few companies.

No matter if you use LED or fiber, the chems in the water or just general exposure will make the jacket dull.

Using them around the pool deck, I would want some sort of receptor to hold the strip in place. Creating a groove in the pavers I don't think will cut it. I'm not sure if either company has a receptor.
