I came across an existing situation, a typical home pool with a 3 HP, 1.5 Hp, and 1 Hp pump, single phase, 240 V. Service factor marked as 1.15, max 40 deg rise. Power goes from a 20A, 2p breaker (30A for the 3 HP) into a relay cabinet used by the pool control system, and then directly to motors. No heaters in between. Is this OK?
I don't know if the motor has an internal thermal overload...how would I know if it did? Also, am I correct in assuming that I follow table 430.52 to size the breaker that feeds the motor
