Wondering how other sparkys layout there gfci protection for a pool pump receptacle or what their inspectors wanted to see..

Ive always put a gfci breaker in and then everything was protected after the time clock, out to a regular twist lock receptacle.

I’ve seen a dead face gfci before a time clock out to toggle switch then to the twist lock receptacle

I’ve also seen a time clock to a toggle disc switch then to a gfci receptacle.

Perhaps best to have the time clock before the gfci protection so as not to reset the time clock if ckt tripped for whatever reason?

All acceptable IMO but maybe someone has a solid concrete way they were told to wire the pump ckt by an inspector. Mine have passed with the gfci breaker but it’s a gray area
