I installed a 20A receptacle for an above ground pool fed from a GFI breaker. The pool was installed with the motor having a cord and plug connection. Is the ground in the cord sufficient for grounding the motor or am I required to run a separate grounding conductor to the lug on the motor?

The lug on the motor is for bonding it to the metal objects in the vicinity of the pool, ladder, diving board, deck reinforcement, etc. The motor is grounded with the equipment ground in the branch circuit.
