got one for ya's,,
doing a 100 amp sub-main to a pool erea,,,
SER to a j-box,then to pvc-out to pool????
or
680.25a
pvc,all the way,main to sub-main,,,

i'm betting on the pvc,,,,imo
 
Your second suggestion. Unless the feeder to the remote panel is existing, any feeder which supplies a panelboard supplying pool equipment must meet the provisions of 680.25(A) as indicated by you.

not an existing sub-panel, then:

"(A) Wiring Methods Feeders shall be installed in rigid metal conduit, intermediate metal conduit, liquidtight flexible nonmetallic conduit, or rigid nonmetallic conduit. Electrical metallic tubing shall be permitted where installed on or within a building, and electrical nonmetallic tubing shall be permitted where installed within a building."
