If an existing service rated panel served a sub-panel located in a detached structure using an un-insulated EGC. Can that sub-panel serve a remote sub-panel?which will serve a pool? Weak on pools. Lost on 680.25. The Language is confusing me:?

680.26(B)(2) basically refers us to 250.32(B). If the feeder meets the old code scenario then it can be used. Now if there is metal be installed between the buildings or there was before making the install non compliant then I would say no go.

I thought installing a new sub to serve a pool wasn’t allowed—where an existing EGC was included an uninsulated in the original installation. See Amateur drawing below, on what I asked above.

Any other comments on this topic, or has it been beat to death. I seen a topic on this, but never a resolution. All I got was people saying read the same section and article (over and over again). Seems obvious the sections and articles aren?t clear!!! I believe sometimes we get to bottled up in being right, and miss the opportunity answer a question. Or the NEC is all screw-up?where many can truly interpret certain parts of it. Just my .001!

My understanding is if there is 3 wires to the existing building you could use it. Also 4 wire with bare copper would be compliant
