We are in the process of bidding a residential pool house. This is the first time doing a job like this. I was wondering if there is anything I need to know that maybe you guys have ever ran into. Service location, outlet locations, etc. The pool company is taking care of the wiring of the pool and we are doing the rest. Thanks for any input.

Re: PoolHouse?

Its actually a 3,000 sq ft pool house that is attached to the main house. The pool is 20x40. There is a bathroom and a equipment room. The service will not be able to go in the equipment room due to size of the room.

Re: PoolHouse?

Then what makes this pool house any differant than a normal house with a pool ? To me a pool house is a changing room with bathroom, and perhaps a snack area with frig full of miller lite, wet bar for those that drink high test and a microwave.

Re: PoolHouse?

A word of caution:
Lock out the circuits you are working on!
I wired a 20 X 40 sun room over a 14 X 30 pool, and had the pool company's "electrician" mistake "sunroom lights/outlets" labeled breaker for "pool lights", and discovered the problem by accident. The pool instalation supervisor asked me if I was OK, and I said "Yes, but your electrician won't be if you don't get him out of here!

Re: PoolHouse?

That was as much your fault as his.You should have had it locked out or wire removed from breaker. But i would still want to hit him with my klines,ACCIDENTALLY
