Pop Up Outlets

T&B is no longer making the pop up outlets that were hard wired. And the pop up outlets I find by searching on line are not acceptable because they have a cord and plug feed. I need to install these in a Granite Top and need a round device or cylinder port. I know that Lew makes a Square device and box but to cut the Granite top I am told they have to take disassemble the tops and take them back to the shop to make a square hole. Anybody have or know of a solution.

Thanks,
Dave

Carlon makes one that is direct wired--- http://www.cupboardsonline.com/2012/01/genius-moment-carlon-pop-up-receptacle.html

Interesting...I wonder why T & B will no longer make them?

I know they are pricy and I also know (directly quoted to me) that sales and cost are key factors in T & B production considerations so who knows.

The supply houses will tell you they're on an "engineering hold"...... whatever the heck that means. I think they just cannot obtain the required parts from their vendors to make them.

About a year ago I called T&B, and reached an engineer. They'd had a design problem, as I recall, involving the pop-up mechanism. That was resolved, but then they've had trouble sourcing parts. (Which makes little sense, I know. There are many suppliers in this world.)

Try the where-to-buy link on the product page. It sent me to a supplier who'd had a return. Sorry if it was me that bought the last one available anywhere.

Nice gadget, though: spill-resistant when popped up or pushed down. Receptacle power cuts off when pushed down. Simple install.

I think that the big problem with the bulkiness would be the size of the hole and whether it could be drilled/cut with the countertop in place.
And, of course, it just is not as elegant.
