Hello,
Are the rental portable heater units have an adjustable output? Say if I rent a 30kW heater, can I adjust the output to 20kW?

I guess that would depend on the model I'd rent, but is that typical?

The ones I've found have are units that are adjustable switches.

Some have element selectors which will change the load, some just have an on/off thermostat.

Do you actually need a heater or are you trying to load bank a generator? Portable load banks can add load in steps. If you're in So Cal check out Comrent in pomona. Otherwise most of the larger power rental places should have them.
