Does a generator terminal require 90c rating?

A test I recently took implied that a lug terminal on a portable generator should be AL9CU rather than plan AL/CU. This is for a non-emergency site generator not connected (usually) to a building. I get into this stuff for events held away from power supplies. I've been poking around trying to find something that says anything about it one way or another.

Terminals are rated for 75degC. Should you use 90degC rated wire it must be applied simply per the 75degC column.

No, you would be hard pressed to find a 90 degree lug in most any piece of equipment.
And every other connection would have to be good for 90 degrees also.
