I would like opinions on the following proposed install.

I have (2) 200 amp load centers installed side by side . Would there be any safety concern in having only 1 load center utilizing a generator interlock on the main breaker and the other not?

When utility power comes back on 1 load center will be energized while the other is still running off the generator until the homeowner manually switches it back over.

In my mind it seems wrong to have two sources supplying the house at the same time.

Thanks.

If your panels are surface mounted, install a 4x4 wireway across the bottom of both panels. Nipple up into each, so you can move circuits between panels if needed.
