Hey fellas ...

I'm always trying to tweak things :) ... I have a lot of clients using portable generators (Northern VA) with the good old 30 amp 240 volt plug. Was scanning through NEC and can't find anything that would red flag an install of two emergency panels at 30 amps 240 volts, but using a 30 amp switch from the generator outlet to flop between emergency panels as needed by the client. At no time is there more than the 30 amp load (no load shedding) on the generator... Thoughts?

Thanks for any responses...

Craig

I think you can find more about connecting a transfer switch to home generator at this site:

Enjoy!
