Another chapter in dealing with job site safety inspectors. Recently one of our crews was remanded for not grounding a portable generator to a "suitable" grounding electrode; eg. ground rod. I was not on the job and didn't have a chance to speak with the inspector. Seems to me that 250-34 is pretty clear. Is there something I'm missing in another standard?

Re: Portable Generators

Steve, you are correct.

Many safety people are doing what they think is right, but do not understand what a ground rod does, and in the case of a portable generator, it would be creating a dangerouse situation.
