Portable Instruments in a Class I Div I

New to the board - wondering what solution is in regards to the use of portable instruments in Class I Div I locations such as vibration monitors, thickness testers. Have not found any that are rated for this area. Need to get test done! :(

If it is a true Division 1 (vapors within the flammable range) location you have to have instruments rated for the location. If the vapors are not always present within the flammable range, then you may be able to use your instruments under a hot work permit with a combustible gas monitor. You would shut down your equipment if the combustible gas monitor shows a vapor concentration of 25% of LEL or some other percentage selected by the safety team.
