Saw an insp. friend @ a social function lastnight. He just got layed off. Sez we are down from 25 to 9 inspectors. Yikes...
What is the unemployment rate in Oregon? I think here in Calif its around 12% and Nevada is around 13%. I am about 60miles from Reno,NV and that area is in bad shape when it comes to construction. Where I live there is no new work to speak of. I hear the politicians say they are creating or "saving" jobs but I just don't see it. My son is in construction in Seattle and this recession is starting to hit there. I think we have just seen the beginning.

It's the same around here East Central Michigan, I been seeing a lot of GC for construction start working for other GC's and the same with EC's. Only the strong have survived. Two years ago there were one hundred home being built at the same time. This year I bet I've only seen three to four. Big new solar plant being built int he area real soon hoping it will help some of these guys out as well as the economy. Our company received over 50 resumes a day from every walk of life and every profession. Road construction is still booming in Michigan as always, orange barrel and detours everywhere. Wife would love to get out and move to lower Kentucky or Tennessee area hows thing down there?
