I would suggest that your wring be tested using a megger which is the common name for a megohmmeter. By applying a test voltage of three to four hundred volts to the wiring and assuring that there are no ground faults or circuit crosses you can be reasonably sure that the wiring system is still safe. Such testing would have to be very carefully done because a misapplied megger can cause damage to some parts of the electrical system.
