Posting Images to this Forum

People have asked how to post images, so I will provide a little info, many times it is helpful to the topic under discussion to post an image to go with it.

I do not have any ties to the management of this board but I feel it is safe for me to say they do not want advertising or any inappropriate images posted here. If this turns out to be a problem the webmaster can disable this feature which would be a loss to us all.

With that said you can link images to your post by the use of the

button or you can add the

tags yourself.

Example:

Here is what the UBB code looks like to post the IMAGE button

In order for you to see the code I added a space between the address and the image tags, for the UBB code to work there must be no spaces between the address and the tags

Put any URL that is an image like, http://www.mikeholt.com/codeforum/image.gif between the

tags and it will link to your post.

To post an image from another web site, find the image that you need, (watch for copyrights) right click on the image to get a pop up menu, click on "Properties" to find the images URL, copy and paste that URL between

tags.

This is the same way you would post a smiley

from another web site.

To post an image that you have, you will need your own Web Page or Web space that you upload the image file to, then you can link it to your post on this forum as described above.

many times it is helpful to the topic under discussion to post an image to go with it.

Good idea Bob!

Images certainly can improve a discussion at times.

I would like to offer my services as a web host for the purpose of making photos and such available to the members of this forum.

If you would like your image loaded at one of my web sites to be displayed here, simply email me the image as an attachment and I will fix it up for proper web viewing.

Well you can not beat that, thank you Dave.

With over 8000 members there must be some great electrically related pictures out there to post and discuss.

To all the lurkers out there join in and make some posts, this is a forum open to all, take advantage of Dave's kind offer.

Thanks Iwire. Yoou are correct, the Mike Holt Forum will not allow advertising or sales. There are other locations that are better for that, such as Bill Addiss's ECN or even eBay.
