Customer called with problems at his Pump Panel. The idiot lights on the POCO controller weren't quite right and a couple fuses had kind of self destructed. One had pretty much burnt in half from his description. When he replaced the fuses he felt a tingle and decided it was a bit past his skill level. We have a lot of corner grounded 240v systems in his area.
First thing I found was the disconnect switch on the PP did not open. Second was some really odd voltages to ground & phase to phase. None of which would confirm delta corner ground or high leg. Time for POCO disconnect. They found a meter socket that had a melt down. Customer was lucky enough that he was getting whatever voltage/current was making it past the carbon. I figured he should hit the Power Ball for a ticket or two.
Today I will work over the disconnect mechanism and check the fuse holders.
