Power company worker hit by car on Christmas; driver flees

12/25/2007, 10:03 a.m. EST The Associated Press
EFFORT, Pa. (AP)

? State police are investigating a Christmas morning hit-and-run crash that injured an electric company worker in Monroe County.
PPL employee Dale Philip was removing a tree from a power line. He was clearing a limb from the road just before 3 a.m. when he was hit by a car with New Jersey license plates. Police haven't said how badly Philip was injured.
Police say the license plate could begin with the letters GVK. It was a dark-colored car that may have a broken windshield.

What if that was their husband or father? The word selfish is far too lightly.

I'll end with this, no matter what you do in the field, you're well appreciated. "Thank you" to ALL of you who keep our services alive.

Merry Christmas everyone:smile:

drinking and driving is a selfish thought even as one is drinking during the party.

To go out and hit someone and knowingly leave the scene, possibly letting someone die is just unimaginable.

I hope that Santa brings the POCO worker a healthy recovery for the holiday!!!

As I was leaving my brother's house tonight (about 10pm)....on one corner of a chaotic intersection - with NO lights - I saw a POCO truck....bucket up and a man working the line.

God Bless him....and hopefully he will untie his own boots tonight.
