I have a situation where a customer wants to have a power conditioner installed for a mini split condenser. I recorded voltage for 2½ days and was from under 232 to over 243. (1Ø 240V dwelling unit) This is not unusual for this area yet the unit has burned up 5 boards and mech contractor doesn't want to warranty any more.

I'm waiting for the make and model of the unit but I do know it's one of those 30A Y________ units.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I'd look for another reason for the control boards poofing; if it cant take 231-244V, which is +/-3% nominal, there is a serious design flaw with the controls.

Agreed, think they have a lemon. I'm not a dwelling unit guy, the same contractor has had many of these wired by us with no problem. I was sent there as a last resort. If they want to try a power conditioner they will get one.
