Power Socket Adapter w/breaker

Would adding a Power Socket Adapter w/breaker to a MSP violate 2020 NEC 230.71(A)? The addition would be adding an additional disconnect to conductors connected to the service feed.

You're talking about a meter socket adapter, right?

No, that would not be a violation. I think you meant 230.71(B). In any case, it would not be an additional service disconnect in the same enclosure. It would comply with either 230.71(B)(1) or (4).

I believe you are incorrect. The socket adapter sits behind the meter and provides a LINE SIDE TAP prior to the main disconnect. The PV breaker on the socket would violate 230.71(A). This is only for NEW panels under 2020 NEC. I could see allowing it for existing MSP's.

No, the socket adapter is not in the same compartment. The meter side of a meter main is its own compartment. It definitely meets 230.71(B)(4).
