Got a question...my company bought an electric vacuum sheet lifter without a plan on how to power it. The trolley is powered by conductor bars so it can run from one bridge onto another and yada yada. My thought is to tie into a couple of the legs of 480 inside the trolley's enclosure, stick a transformer in there (1.5kva to power the 7amp max draw of the lifter) and then hang a coiled cable or cable reel. As long as I fuse the new 120 line I should be fine correct?

Welcome to the forum.

Electrically/mathematically speaking, yes, what you ask works.

Don't forget about grounding (to an electrode) one of the 120v lines.

The physical installation matters, too. We'd need to see pics to advise further.

so ideally I'd like to tuck it in the existing enclosure, however if I have to give it its own on the side that wouldn't be the end of the world. there's also an option to tie it into the bridge enclosure and festoon it out.
