Powerwires and inwall ratings

At the seminar this past weekend 7/18-19, Mike brought up the idea of running power supply cables and cord sets through walls.

I agree that Article 400 does not govern Power Supply Cables and Cord Sets but my question goes to ratings of power supply cables and cord sets.

Low Voltage wiring has CL Ratings which are approved to go through a wall. What about Power Supply Cables. Is there a power supply cable out there which is approved for in wall use?

Thanks,

If you attended the seminar then you should know that portable or flexible cordage cannot be used for permanent premises wiring. I assume that you are talking about line voltage so the answer is no. There are various methods devised by some manufacturers that transition from the cord and plug to a Chapter 3 wiring method within the wall then back to a connector to continue the cord run.
