PPE and OSHA

I have been reading about the small power line contractors protesting to OSHA, about the approval of PPE equipment for personnel protection.

They are basing the protest on the utilities not permitting the only safe method for working power lines, which is shutting them off. The PPE allows the utility to legally demand live line maintenance.

I think many of us have been commenting on this, I know Don, and I have. Nice to say "I told you so".

OSHA has two sets of rules, the rules for line work permit hot work in most cases, while the rules for "inside" work prohibit hot work in most cases.
