practice test with wrong answer,twice?

arkansas master practice test.question 1.a residential service uses 1/0 thw aluminum conductors.the minimum size aluminum grounding electrode conductor for this installation would be a.#8 b#6 c#4 d#2.what do yall say the answer is then ill tell you what the book says.theres also 1 other wrong answer to a question ill post later

Who's material are you studying from?
Mike Holt has links on his website for lists of errors in his materials. If you're using his, check the website, if someone else's, check with them.

Also, was this all that was in the question? Sometimes they will give info on certain things and all questions will be for the same info.
Example: A house that uses a water pipe for an electrode and has a 125A service. Then a question asking about the size of a GEC might be directed towards the water pipe, and that could be 4 AWG Al.

thats the question word for word.the test is from the company that gives arkansas test.

This does happen, most testing agencies have an appeal process that allows you to note the question that you feel is wrong, answer the question with the correct answer and the point will be awarded to your score, and if anyone else answered the question correctly in a previous session the technical committee will award the point after it has been discovered that the original answer was wrong.

Writing tests is not as easy as one might think, there is a lot of time that goes into creating a question for a certain section of a test that applies to a specific section.

Psychometrics is used to determine all aspects of a question and they are all given a score that determines the level of the question and what catagory it should go in.
 
heres another one from the same practice test.Grounded conductors that are a #______ or smaller than a #_______ awg are required by the nec to be identified by a continuous white or gray outer finish or by three continuous white stripes on other than green insulation along its entire length a2,b4,c6,d10.the answer in the back of the practice test says#10

I agree, maybe the testing company refereced the wrong table, maybe they took the ampacity from 310.15(B)(16) and sized the GEC to table 250.122. Just a thought :)
