Just curious. If it was RMC conduit that had coupling on each stick and you had (3) factory elbows as shown below would you say you would need (2) couplings for each elbow? I know I'm getting into the weeds a little. I ask becasue since each stick of conduit has a coupling you may wind up being able to use one for one side of the elbow thus only needing (1) coupling for each elbow.

Why do you need elbows. If it is prefab just bend them as needed

Yes you would need two per prefab elbow. You might be able to use one from the straight length. If you end up cutting nipple from a scrap piece you may need one for the nipple.
