I am looking for a pressure switch that has both a High and Low set point on it. My personal preference is for a 4-20ma via a small PLC but the customer is hesitant. Operating range of 0-15 psi. It is for a positive displacement air system to move grain. Customer has the blower but no control.

Mfg??

an ashcroft GP series can be ordered with dual setpoints.

so can a lot of others.

I would be more concerned about the range.

0-15 psi seems pretty high.

It may very well be high.

No one knows what the operating characteristics of the system is as it sets. They have a $1600 HMI sitting in a closet that would record/graph the operating pressures via a transducer and el cheapo PLC I have on hand so we would know the what the ranges should be but, No, they just want to wing it. They installed the air system a year ago with nothing but overloads on the compressor motor. No bin full switch, no interlock with the leg and auger it blows to. Care to guess how many times they have had to scoop product out of a plugged leg? You win the prize if you can tell me how many times they have had the 150' to 200' of buried pipe roto rootered by a drain cleaning specialist. They were warned.

The customer is always right, repeat the customer is always right...

23 times. :? I had already forgot the question that brought about that answer.

The customer is always right, he can spend his money however he wants as long as he understands what he got, is what he asked for.
