In primary substation rooms of 4.8Kv we typically provide a ground ring around the room, the service comes into the gear multiple sets of 3-1/C cables, the ground in the gear is bonded to the ground ring (exothermic weld) in turn provides additioanl grounds to various other systems, the question in the primary room where the equipment is rated at 15Kv (primary lineup, multiple medium voltage xfmr.'s) the specifications call for the ground ring with insulators of a minnimum 600V however with primary voltages the minimum level should be 2700V on a 4.8Kv system correct? Or is 600V adequate? is there any information (white paper) etc. that discuss this. Thanks..:-?
