I need to intercept a feed from a generator, I need to tap from the generator feed to add an additional ATS. So I need a suggestion on a product to use wether it is a type of lug or splicing product to connect 2-250kcmil and 1-8awg wire which will feed a transformer for critical load in a nursing home.

Thanks in advance.

The fact that you have parallel 250s makes this a bit more difficult. I would be looking for a power distribution block. A quick look shows that these would work but they are on the large side. Maybe you could find some smaller ones that would accept four 250s per phase and the single #8.
Note, the #8 will have to be installed in compliance with the rules in 240.21(B).

I don't have much room to work with so I was hoping for trough/gutter to make the tap. My foreman bought a large feed through type distribution cabinet. The problems with that is less space to install, smallest terminal is 6awg, breaker is only good for up to 8awg plus would have to use bonding bushing since knockout size goes up to 3-1/2" and all we have 2-1/2" conduit we are using.
He said if I had suggestioned to make our live easier and the job more economical since the engineer missed the requirement by the state to have critical loads feeding resident rooms to have separate ATS operation from other non-resident critical loads
