Has anyone taken the Prometric Residential Electrician exam? I am taking it this week. I have been studying the obvious topics in chapters 1 thru 4 of the 2005 code but wondered what else may be included such as mobile/manufactured homes, pools and spas, motors, hazardous locations, communication circuits, fire pumps, alarm systems, fiber optics, etc? If anyone has some info it would be appreciated.

It would help if you could tell us where you're taking the exam and for what license.

Welcome to the Forum.

I am taking it in Iowa for a residential electrician license. You are allowed to work on single unit up to four unit dwellings. I am not sure that makes a difference since it is the only Prometric test listed as residential electrician.

Have you gotten a letter from Prometric yet? It may tell you on there what to expect, as well as what materials are allowed during the test (no Uglys, handbooks, programmable calculators, etc.)

All they will tell you is what you can bring into the testing site which is the NEC 2005 code book and a non graphing, non programming calculator. They provide pencils and scratch paper.
