Propane Tank Grounding /Bonding

Out in the oil field we run gas engines fuelled by propane to run pump jacks.

Do we have to install a grounding plate or rod to a servet post on the foot of this large tank?

We have also thought of tagging it to a nearby system ground and/or possibly the oilwell casing when available?

What is your concern? Is the tank in risk if being struck by lightning? Is the tank likely to become energized somehow? Is there some risk of static discharge to the tank?

I doubt most of the above, thus can't imagine any reason to do anything...

I believe that the concern has to do with the transportation of fuel between truck and tank.
Similar to bonding of chemical tanks and oil tanks
Thus eliminating the potential difference between the fuelling truck and container.

If that is an issue, then you bond between the tank and the truck...you don't ground. I am not sure that I see a need for a bond with a propane transfer as that is a closed system and there is no way for a static spark to cause a problem.
